🦕 My Jeff Goldblum Tribute Sweater
Next month Laura and I will be teaching another class together, which is always a great time! But I’m especially excited about this next one because I’m going to be knitting myself a doodle vest right along with our students.
Laura is the Queen of Vests, leader of Vest Fest, our knit along at Laura Allyson Party every summer, and knitter and wearer of lots of vests over the years! I’m a later adaptor, but with my Black Sheep Sweater Vest FO that I have been wearing a TON, I’m excited to add more vests to the rotation!
Make it stand out
My idea for my vest is to use the Dino Doodle Card Deck to design a Jurassic Park vest!
I just love Jurassic Park! That movie SLAPS, it has so many iconic moments, and I really want to knit dinosaurs! Match made in heaven!
Except! Jurassic Park is about more than just the dinosaurs! I really wanted to work Jeff Goldblum into my vest (normal!), specifically this iconic moment that is still being referenced and meme’ed even … 32 years later?! Is that real? haha yikes!
So! I got to doodling!
And I think I fucking nailed it hahaha! Is that dumb or what?! hahaha
I walked my computer and this doodle over to Shane to gauge his reaction and he actually audibly gasped! hahaha it was great!
So I don’t have it 100% figured out, but I’ve got it mapped out enough to where I figured out what colors I needed to order. Once my yarn arrives I’ll be able to dig in a little further, but YEAH! I think this vest is going to hit! My job is SO DUMB sometimes!

Gauge and sizing
Designing a bottom up sweater vest from scratch with your measurements and gauge!
Adding steek panels to make armholes and v neck!
Design your own all over color work
Reinforcing and cutting open your steek panels
Picking up stitches for the v neck and armholes
Custom armhole sizing
Custom body shape and length
Perfect v neck depth
Yarn: Any yarn weight will work for this class as we’ll be designing it based on your gauge!
