đŚ Zipper Sweater & Dino Quilts!
I finished my zipper sweater! Is she cute or what?! This feels just incredibly wearable - especially as itâs snowing right now here in Chicago! - as just an everyday staple sweater, and I donât really knit those! So this is something new and different for me.
I really wouldnât have knit this without Lauraâs FO and class! I wore her sweater when we were away for a weekend and it totally sold me on it! And Iâm so happy to have my own!
I used some La Bien Aimee Confetti in Shire and I love this yarn! My joke is that youâve got to be blowing a .08 to order it because it really is SO EXPENSIVE, but it really is nice yarn.
The simple design really letâs the confetti do all the talking!
Keep an eye on Lauraâs site because when she teaches this again you should jump on it! Getting that zipper in is no easy feat, and it really is super nice to have some hand holding!
I also finished my dinosaur quilts! Theyâve been shipped and received by the twin baby girls they now belong to so Iâm very happy to share the pics of them!
I had my eye on this dinosaur quilt from Elizabeth Hartman since it was released and when our friends told us they were expecting I knew this was the quilt I had to make!
Now YES I DID take pause when âexpectingâ turned into âexpecting TWINSâ but eh what else am I doing?! Letâs make two!
I wanted to make sister quilts, not twin quilts, so I used the same big fat quarter bundle and switched up the background colors. Then batched each dinosaur! It was SO FUN! I just love making Elizabethâs quilt patterns! These are quilt 3 and 4 Iâve made following her patterns and I canât wait to do it again.
And in a very surprising turn of events, I've got another set of twins on the horizon, and now I've set this precedent! Back to the sewing machine!
What Iâm Working On!
Alright this is the WIP pile from 2 weeks ago!
And this is all Iâve got left! My Oraefi! I just picked it back up because I want to finish this ASAP before I CO Andrea Mowryâs new DRK Everyday Cardi pattern for a KAL Iâm hosting! I didnât even get to put that in the newsletter because it sold out when I announced it to LauraAllyson.Party on Tuesday!
Playing yarn chicken on those sleeves so weâll see what happens! Leftover yarn is balled, weighed, and bagged. Weâll see!!
