Survey Results!
Hey it’s WIP day!
Every other Thursday I take a look at what my WIP pile looked like 2 weeks ago, and what it looks like today!
I never OFFICIALLY shared my Sleevetember FO pile! I knit 5 sleeves in Sleevetember, including finishing my Book Club Pullover, Jurassic Park Vest, and Comebackigan Sleeves. Which means it’s basically time to start a new WIP pile! That’s a lot of FOs! A proper FO post coming next week!
So here is what my WIP pile looks like today - the body of my Comebackigan, and I got a sock started for Socktober! This is Brutilista Socks by Stepanka! Hoping to finish this sock for Soctober, and I’ve got to get done with the body of my Comebackigan by my big join class on October 22nd!
ALSO, this is my mystery stitch along from Satsuma Street from 2 weeks ago…
And this is what it looks like today! Still behind but making progress. Trying to be ok with being behind with this one because I’ve just got too much work knitting and packing to do right now, but that’s ok!
Survey Results!
BUT I know why you’re really here! You want to see those sweet, sweet survey results!
If you missed it, a couple weeks ago I sent out a survey about time zones and class times, and classes I should teach coming up in November. And I love digging into survey results so let’s see what’s going on!
I got responses from 128 people, 90.6% of whom have taken one of my classes before. It’s not surprising that people who have taken my classes would be more interested in what time my classes would be moving forward! But I wanted to ask to see if the people who haven’t taken a class from me had anything helpful to say to the other questions in the survey. Turns out they didn’t really! But I appreciate everyone taking the time to fill out my surveys always!
Time zones! A little surprisingly, the majority of people are in Eastern Time, despite me and my in person students that I started with being in Central Time! And there is a nice chunk of people from Pacific Time as well.
The Eastern thing is helpful because it’s even closer to Portugal time!
So! No real surprise here! As suspected, weekend classes are much more popular than week day classes! Sat/Sunday morning classes are IDEAL for me being 5-6 hrs ahead of most people, as that will be 3-4pm start time for me. LOVE THAT!
Monday - Friday lunchtime class feels like a time I could work with, too. I’m thinking I could offer the same class with two day/time options. One weekend mornings and one weekday lunchtime. See what happens!
Just wanted to drop the results of this question here, too. Looks like a general Design Your Own Fair Isle sweater would be popular! I’ve been wanting to create something like this for a while so this is for sure pushing me in that direction!
DRK Everyday Cardi, Book Club Club, Rosie Sweater, and Comebackigan are already on the schedule. Weekender kinda surprised me! But it’s SUCH a great learning sweater!
At the bottom of the survey I had two short answer questions where people could write in their answers! I asked which new class would you like me to teach, and I got 53 responses!
Projects that were mentioned multiple times were, top to bottom and left to right, a mosaic project (pictured here is Paulie, on my list!), James Sweater from Kelbourne Woolens, a cabled vest (this is Vest No. 8 I think?), Polina, Rannaculous, dog sweater class, Bouquet (LOVE this one! Thought you were all over it!), and a sock class! Ok, cuties!
One take away from me from reading through these results was that quite a few of you would be interested in a smaller, shorter project, like socks or a hat or something. I like that! I might play around with that for this Nov/Dec before my sweater classes start up properly in January.
And lastly, I asked the above! Followed by an LOL because I was worried I was opening a can of worms but HOLY SHIT!!!
I opened these survey results when I got back from Porto and cried and cried! It’s been SO HARD for me not to be working as much as I’m used to working the past couple of months, and in the deep recesses of my mind I was so nervous that you would all realize you could knit sweaters on your own and wouldn’t need me anymore, so to come back to 83 responses to this question, MOST of them just to say encouraging words! Oh man! I cried! I took Royal on a walk and cried some more! Going through them again this morning I cried some more!
THANK YOU! ALSO shout out to the woman who suggested adding needle size to my Yoke Sizing Worksheet. Done and done! I made a couple other edits I’ve been meaning to, also.
Take Aways???
Extremely helpful! I’m going to throw up some shorter, accessory classes! I’m going to for sure teach US morning weekend classes (my favorite, too!), I’m going to revisit teaching fucking Reonnauculous (and learn to spell it?), and, not new at all, but I love this! I cannot wait to teach from my new home! I miss you!
